Do it yourselfWhy not? If you are a good customer I will even help you within reason. There are a lot of resources out there and Google is a technician's best friend. Most of the problems your computer might have someone has had it before and written about it. Being able to service, fix and maintain your own computer will help you to understand it, and to understand why you should do things in a certain way. There is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't have a go yourself as long as you protect yourself from data loss through mistakes. The chances that you will irrevocably damage any part of your system are remote. Just make sure you have backup. I will never, never forget doing some technical work for a company once. The manager of the department lent over, smiled and said "you're just guessing, aren't you?". He was absolutely right in a way. Educated guesses based on experience and prior knowledge. The more of that you have, the faster you'll be and the less likely you'll wind up doing something severely and unnecessarily drastic - like reinstalling your operating system over the data you used to have. I'm sure that one might service their car too. With the right tools and Google to lookup - maybe a manual for your car - bob's your uncle. Some people get a real kick out of DIY. Some even offer their resulting skills to others. Like me. Why not DIY?Do you have the time? (no) Things to consider. |
