SEOSEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation. "Google", "Yahoo!", & "MSN" are examples of search engines, so named because you go there to search for content on the internet. SEO is the process of optimising your website so that it stands the best chance of coming first when a user is searching for what you have to offer. SEO is big business. Some companies out there charge as much as $500 per month to do SEO for you on one website! SEO is predominantly about making as many people see your website as possible. At web2work, our SEO philosophy is to ensure that your website's SEO is natural, search engine friendly and as effective as possible for your website's purpose. We do not believe in a high rank at any cost: cheating can have detrimental effects in the short future term. We also don't subscribe easily to hype or guff taking instead a sensible tried and proven approach. When it all boils down to it, the search engines are trying to deliver relevant content and good quality websites. So if your site is optimised for it's human visitors and made to be easy to find, then that is half the battle won. When building or rebuilding your website, we ensure that SEO is actually factored in at every step of the way leaving your website ready to be "crawled" by those search engine "spiders" that roam the internet looking for websites just like yours. SEO is a really expansive topic. There is so much information out there on the internet, it would be quite silly to repeat it all here. If you're interested, wikipedia's entry is an excellent start. The next place to visit are the search engine's own websites - it never ceases to amaze me how many people skip the words out of the horse's mouth! |
